6/10 Food

There can be no doubt that there was superb skill in the execution of each dish, however in the 6 course tasting menu I found the texture of each dish too similar to each other. The beetroot, the marron, the fish were too similar – that is, something soft, on a bed of some type of purée. The duck was a noticeable stand out, but after that, there were two sorbets. Again, two texturally very similar courses. My desire for contrast extends to the non alcoholic beverage pairing. Save for the first zero alcohol wine, they all tended to be citrusy and syrupy sweet. All very tasty! Just too similar to each other. Finally onto the ambience: lovely view, unobtrusive music, however, very busy with staff constantly running from the kitchen to diners tables. Appreciate this is unavoidable but it made the restaurant feel like an office unfortunately. Also, a small but noticeable thing was there was no way for me to pull my chair closer to the table without rocking my table and almost spilling my drinks. An unstable table was not something I would have expected in a fine dining restaurant. I’m sorry this feedback is so negative as I think the service was impeccable. I commend the diverse staff composition and felt very well looked after during the night. Thank you for having me.
