I dare say this is probably the best pho I’ve had.
After visiting so many other places that served pho in buckets laden with slabs of meat, I was glad to encounter an approach driven by more by taste than perceived value.
Pho Hung’s pho starts with a flavourful, light and clear stock. The meat is of good quality and the quantity is proportional to the noodles. Overall, it’s a well balanced and tasty dish.
In addition to their pho, they also do some pretty decent “pan-Asian” side dishes. That is, an assortment of dishes that combine elements of Viet cuisine with that of other Asian cultures. This combined with some novel twists on traditional Viet dishes has me interested to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Special mention must be made of the fit out. Given where this is, Pho Hung have made a pretty extraordinary attempt with the interior design. To be honest, it’s probably a bit too much but the overall effect is bright and cheerful.
Definitely more pricey than usual but worth checking out if you value quality over quantity.
