Kong BBQ

Victoria 6/10 Food

Do you know those websites that assault you with pop up banners? Or the ones where filling out a form involves switching between the use of the keyboard and the mouse? Or the mobile website that doesn’t work on a mobile and only shows half of what’s available on the desktop version? Kong BBQ is the restaurant version of that website. Yes this is fusion, but do we really need chopsticks, a knife, fork and/or a spoon depending on which dish we’re eating? Also I know hard concrete floors and distressed brick walls are trendy, but I can barely hear myself let alone the people across the table from me without shouting. As for the food itself, it ranges from the successful albeit hard to stuff up Korean fried chicken wings, to the bizarre melange that is pork cracking and brussel sprouts with chilli oil dressing. Granted they’re trying something different, but this feels confused. Did they eat this? Did someone actually like this…? Stick to the ‘classics’ when ordering – the fusion stuff here is pot luck to say the least.
