BaNH mi not baHN mi. N before the H. It’s Viet, not German! I think I’m going to have to preface every banh mi review with that. I get irrationally angry when I see it spelt wrong. Anyway, Strawberry Fair…I’d heard a lot about this place but was never in the area. Finally made it there and have to say, I don’t really find worthy of its reputation. Given the amount of trade that it does, the bread itself seemed a bit chewy? The filling was okay, but a bit dry with slightly less meat than I would like. It’s an o.k.a.y roll, but there are at least two other places on South Road (5 or so minutes drive from here) that do just as good, if not better. I will say one thing though – I love the crowd that comes here. Multiculturalism at its finest right. Buy a roll and have it while ogling the fine massage establishment across the road. Maybe I shouldn’t be such a pedant; one customer came in and asked for a roll but without the cheese..!?! I’m going to assume he meant the butter, but maybe it’s come to that. First lettuce and now cheese…!
