Has great potential. I really like the design and interior of Golden Boy. Service is also excellent and extremely attentive. Unfortunately though, me and my dining partner had to rush off to go see a movie. I think this might have been part of the reason why the latter end of our dining experience was not as great as our entrée. We had betel leaves with trout and peanuts. Expensive at $7 a pop, but lovely, simple and flavoursome. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rest of our meal. I know authentic Thai food is extremely hot, but at the same time, you can taste other things going on other than just chilli. Our salad and main was just hot – so spicy as to be almost inedible. That’s saying a lot considering how mouth laceratingly hot I like my food. Anyway, we’re unsure if this was a big “eff-you for making us rush” statement from the chefs, but we’re willing to come back and try this place again, because it has so much freaking potential. I want so so so badly to like this place. Don’t let me down!
