Pearl’s Diner

South Australia 9/10 Food

A challenge for those afraid of blood/plasma. So, I know it’s not very sophisticated, but I generally like my red meat to be more done than rare. And when it comes to chicken, that’s not ever meant to be rare right? Well if you’re like me, you might find eating here to be a slightly anxious experience. My sister and I ordered chicken wings as starters and both were *very* pink inside. Mine was probably closer to bloody. I probably should have sent it back, but common sense (and manners) went out the window and I devoured the whole thing. It was tasty but I then spent the rest of the meal with eater’s remorse, waiting for the stomach pains to set in. They never did, but then came the burgers. Again, as with the chicken, quite rare and very wet. One is thinking – should I even be eating this? For those who know, it is essentially the same Burger Theory experience, but with a nicer place to wait in. I now understand a bit better the cult of BT though. Burgers do come across a little ordinary at first, but later on you find yourself hankering for another. Chips are still disappointingly average and really come across as an after thought. But you’re here for the burgers and they are insidiously good – just more than a tad expensive.
