South Australia -/10 Food

Very hearty food, very generous portions. Eating here you get the sense that you’ve just been invited into someone’s home to share a meal with their family. This characteristic probably explains the slow service as it really does look like only two people looking after an entire restaurant while relatives are out the back doing the cooking! Despite this, I actually found the service to be really attentive. During our meal one of the guys would come out and ask how our meal was. After we’d finished, the same guy came out and gave us some tips for our next dining experience and even remembered a few of us from a previous occasion from ages ago. Don’t know why, but I really appreciate that sort of thing, particularly as it so rare these days. So yes, you may not get served straight away, but cut these guys some slack; bring good conversation, an appetite and enjoy the meal. The food itself is a little different and may not be to everyone’s liking – I personally found it weirdly sour and possibly a little too oily – but still thoroughly enjoyed myself. My friends made absolute pigs of themselves and probably ate more injera than they should have (pro tip; don’t. More filling to bread peoples!). Totally recommended – at least once!
