An unbiased appraisal. There is a fierce rivalry between the two cafes, Blue & White and Red & White as to who makes a better AB – a dish that depending on who you ask, could stand for either Absolutely Beautiful or ABortion. Consisting of yiros meat on a bed of hot chips and then smothered with various sauces, this is the perfect incarnation of every late night food craving. As someone that didn’t go to whatever school which is supposed to have whatever allegiance to whichever, I find objectively that the Blue & White makes a much better AB. I’ve tried Red & White’s and found the foundation of their AB – the chips – stodgy and unable to cope with the resulting meat and sauces piled on top. Blue & White on the other hand, has chips which are good in their own right; light, fluffy and crispy. Amazingly, they manage to stay that way even with all the toppings. So, can’t say much for the price as I haven’t been to Red & White after the two times I tried it there (awful), but if you want a GOOD AB, go to Blue & White.
