It’s pricey…. …but the creaming soda was very yummy. The spicy onion rings were also very good, but probably too salty to have by themselves. Possibly better in a burger, or with a toastie. Location Rundle Mall, City Centre, Adelaide, SA
Nice Grilled Pork Balls. My sister and I had the combination beef noodle and the vermicelli with grilled pork balls for a late 2pm lunch. Both meals were very decent and very cheap. The pho did not have a traditionally deep/rich or hearty a beef flavour as I’ve had elsewhere, but this might appeal to […]
Average. I can’t vouch for how authentic the ramen here is, but I can see how someone might not like it. I guess it’s a decent feed for the price, but it does feel like you could do better making this at home yourself. Location Leigh Street, City Centre, Adelaide, SA
Yay!!!. Finally, a stylish, clean and well served yum cha place in Adelaide. Very limited number of tables and very short opening hours (they closed at 6pm the night we went) but I think this would be a great lunch place. Sister and I managed to sneak in before closing time for pre-movie dinner and […]
Ribena drink was the highlight of my meal. I hate it when you have food and at the end, feel like you wasted your recommended daily intake of calories. Location Pulteney Street, City Centre, Adelaide, SA
Mmmm. I went here wanting to try the famous home made baked beans, but there weren’t any on the menu. Sad face. So I ended up having the “Neptune” breakfast instead: salmon & poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. Happy face! Very rich and probably very unhealthy, but very yummy. Great vibe, and great service. Worth […]
I’m not Malaysian…. …but I think the food here is pretty good. Don’t know if it’s authentic or not, but the roti was yummy (egg & onion) and the chicken curry I had was very tasty and rich. I’ve eaten at the Mamak in Sydney and I didn’t think it was any better than this. […]
Great dumplings and more. So, I think previous reviewers have established how great the dumplings here are (yes, they’re great!), but let me draw attention to the sides. Normally neglected, often nothing more than a garnish I have to say I really REALLY enjoyed the pickles, salad and cold mashed potato that my fried chicken […]
Tasty, healthy, generous and cheap. I had the $8 Al Fam chicken for lunch – grilled Maryland chicken, flat bread, garlic sauce and salad. I didn’t eat much of the salad – it was very basic consisting of 2 slices of tomato, some lettuce, purple onion and purple cabbage – but the chicken was awesome. […]
While this place serves good food, unfortunately it will be held to the same standards as similar Viet restaurants in the area. By comparison, Quan Ngon is expensive and the servings are some what miserly. The fact that you have to pay for water certainly doesn’t help it’s cause amongst the local Viets Location Pooraka
My family has started making this our Sunday lunch place after Nghi Ngan Quan became too busy. The decor here has seen better days, but dont let that put you off – the food is good, generous and cheap. Recommended! Location Grand Junction Road, Rosewater, Adelaide, SA
Let’s get two things out of the way: 1) The Viet food here is GREAT & 2) Do not order from the Chinese side of the menu. As much as it pains me to say this, it is only a little better than what you would get in a food court. Okay now that we’ve […]
Okay hand cut chips. Not to my personal liking though. Have eaten here twice and both times chips have tasted/smelt of old oil – the second time less so. I don’t want to be too negative though – still better than the average take out using frozen chips. It’s a very popular place with the […]
This place is on par with Adelaide’s stalwart yum cha restaurant Dinh Hao. Yes this means waiting a minimum of 15 minutes to get a table even if you’ve made a booking, and yes it means the ‘ambience’ is crowded and noisy. But it also means you get top notch yum cha. I judge all […]
The BBQ and general food here used to warrant tolerating the indifferent table service and spartan decor but I’ve since had too many bad experiences to ever want to go here again. They may be able to occasionally do superb BBQ but its not worth risking it for what has lately been just really fatty […]
I think this place caters to white people more than to Asians. Otherwise can’t understand why this place is so popular. Dumpling are really stodgy and the rice dishes really oily. Much better Chinese places more worthy of your patronage. Location Grote Street, City Centre, Adelaide, SA
Went there for my gran’s birthday and was really pleased with the selection at the smorgasbord – its like all you can eat pub food. Quality was above average to great and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location Walkerville Terrace, Medindie, Adelaide, SA
Consistently good. This place is the best – way way better than the franchise bakery around the corner. Hot dog buns are awesome and my god, the beef curry puffs! Too good! Location Market Street, City Centre, Adelaide, SA
Best Pho in Adelaide. As a Viet guy, I can tell you that this is the best pho you can get in Adelaide! Don’t be fooled by those other Chinese shops around Central Market selling you their knock offs – this is what pho should be like. A bowl will cost you around the same […]
Very generous. If you have a big group of people, try the 7 courses of beef. It is recommended for 2-4 people, but I will applaud you if you actually manage to finish it as it is VERY generous and very tasty. The pho here could be better, but it’s among one of the better […]
Best fish and chips I’ve had. Lots of places claim to have the best fish and chips, but this is one place that could actually truthfully say that. On a hot day, people will wait for up to 40 minutes to get their order. That’s how good they are. These chips are not of the […]
My local Indian. Excellent service and even better food. Whenever we have a Indian food craving, this is where we go. Pretty much everything on the menu is great. Can’t go wrong! Location Main North Road, Prospect, Adelaide, SA
