A plainly written, colourless romance novel

A very straight forward and easy to read novel about two women – Ashley and Nikki – and their relationships with each other, their children and respective partners.
Despite a plot that was obvious from the very beginning, there is some enjoyment in watching it unfold. Ultimately, this is a romance novel and the men are fantastically rugged, attentive and doting. The only male character which isn’t, is Ashley’s conveniently dead ex husband.
I think my main struggle with this novel was how plainly it was written. This makes it very accessible, but also quite bland. Other than that, it feels mean to be too critical of this book!
